VICTORIA – The University of Victoria swim teams opened their 2024-25 campaigns at Saanich Commonwealth Place, hosting the Senior Circuit, Oct. 19.

Vikes claim pair of podium finishes in the 400 Free

• The Vikes took third place in the 400 free on both the men's and women's sides, with Lydia James-Brennan clocking at 4:29.91 for the women's team and William Risk finishing with a time of 4:07.36.

Newcomer Ogilvie posts top-five finishes in debut

• Keir Ogilvie registered a top-five finish in each of the three events he swam in. Opening with a fourth-place showing in the 100 free (50.51), Ogilvie took second in the 200 free (1:51.38) and won the 100 fly (54.27).

Vikes have strong showing in 200 back

• The Vikes claimed two of the top three finishes in both the men's and women's 200 back. On the women's side, Teah Hoffmann won the event with a time of 2:21.17, while Olivia Roschat came in third at 2:23.80. Bryce Tierney and Alex Lalonde went 2-3 in the men's event at 2:07.43 and 2:08.25, respectively.

Vikes go 1-2-3 across 200 fly events

• Victoria filled a podium with its finishes in the 200 fly. Elijah Agostinelli Stull won on the men's side after going 2:08.66, while Simon Fromet de Rosnay took third with a time of 2:12.76. Isabella Brunoro rounded out the Vikes' podium spots, taking second in the women's race with a time of 2:21.36.

Epp leads Vikes in 400 IM

• Erin Epp won the women's 400 IM with a time of 5:05.86, and was followed by a second-place showing from Paige Dooling at 5:08.10. Fromet de Rosnay added a second-place showing in the men's race, clocking in at 4:52.29.
