WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Fingarson puts the Vikes up at half
  • As the clock hit 45 minutes, Sophie Fingarson intercepted a pass by the WolfPack on their attempt the clear the ball. Taking one touch to bring her to the top of the box, Fingarson fired her shot to the back right corner of the net to put the Vikes ahead, 1-0, at haltime.
Vikes double lead out of halftime
  • A corner awarded to the Vikes in the 48th minute was sent in from Ruby Nicholas to Fingarson, who headed the ball past the TRU goalkeeper for the 2-0 Vikes lead out of the break.
Victoria strikes twice in added time
  • Raina Hagel registered her first goal as a Vike two minutes into extra time, meeting the pass from Malia Phelan that was diverted off a TRU defender's foot. Connecting with the ball, Hagel sent it to the back of the net for the 3-0 Vikes lead.
  • A corner kick was awarded to the Vikes two minutes later. The WolfPack goalkeeper initially got in front of the ball to send it away, but Phelan was there to get a quick shot off to score and seal the win for the Vikes, 4-0.
FROM THE FIELD - Sophie Fingarson
"I thought today's game was really good. It started a bit chaotic, but we got composed and kept the ball and ended with a 4-0 win. We're going to keep focusing on ourselves and what we've been doing and keep moving forward."
