Prince George, B.C. – The University of Victoria men's basketball team took down the University of Northern British Columbia, 91-58, Jan. 16 at the Northern Sports Centre.

Vikes run away from Timberwolves
- A pair of free throws from Geoffrey James put the first points of the game on the board, but was met with a UNBC three-pointer for the 3-2 UNBC lead in the opening minute of play.
- Taking advantage of a three-minute UNBC scoring drought, the Vikes used an 11-0 run capped by an Aaron Tesfagiorgis layup to take a double-digit lead, 21-10, with three minutes to go in the first.
- After 10 minutes of play, the Vikes held a 25-15 lead over UNBC.
- Continuing to expand their lead in the second, Ethan Boag put the Vikes up by 20, 41-21, at the 6:32 mark of the quarter.
- James scored the final points of the first half, giving UVic a 55-29 lead after 20 minutes of action.
- Also scoring the final points of the third quarter, James' three gave the Vikes their largest lead of the game, 78-41, entering the fourth quarter.
- After outscoring UNBC in the third quarter, 23-12, the Timberwolves finished with a four-point advantage in the final frame, 17-13.
- Tesfagiorgis hit one final three as time expired to seal Victoria's win at 91-58.
WORTH NOTING
- Renoldo Robinson led the Vikes with 17 points, also adding a team-high three steals in 17 minutes on the floor.
- Three other Vikes finished with double-digit scoring nights: Sam Maillet (15), Ethan Boag (13), and Geoffrey James (12). The 15 points mark a season-high for Maillet, who also led the Vikes with three assists.
- Boag and Ryan Gallagher led the Vikes in rebounds with six each.
- The Vikes improve to 11-0 with the win, while UNBC falls to 1-10 with the loss.
