Vancouver, BC – The University of Victoria women's soccer team went on the road and were defeated by the University of British Columbia 3-0, Oct. 18.
Thunderbirds score early in the first half
- The Thunderbirds were quickly on the attack as they found the back of the net in the 6th minute of play and took a 1-0 lead.
UBC added to their lead
- From deep outside the box, UBC 's shot deflected past the Vikes' keeper for a 2-0 lead.
Thunderbirds made it 3-0
- The Thunderbirds buried one from deep outside the box to stretch their lead to 3-0in the 34th minute.
Vikes tested Thunderbirds' goaltender
- The Vikes created scoring chances with their offensive pressure but were unable to beat the Thunderbirds' keeper.
This concludes CW regular season play for the Vikes, ending with a record of 5-5-4. The Thunderbirds will conclude with a record of 14-0 and will host the Canada West Championships Oct. 24-26.
