Langley, BC – The University of Victoria men's soccer team defeated Trinity Western University 1-0, Oct. 4, at Chase Office Field.
Scoreless first half
- Despite neither team being able to find the back of the net, the Vikes outplayed TWU as they out shot the Spartans 4-1 in the first half.
Keshavarz broke the deadlock
- Off a deflected header from Matthew Pearse, Keshavarz beat the goaltender with his shot from point blank range, putting the Vikes ahead 1-0.
McConnach stood tall for first win
- Matthew McConnach secured his first win of the season as he shut the door on TWU's four shots in the second half.

- The Vikes leap to 10-1-2, good enough for 2nd in the pacific, while the Spartans fall to 3-6-2.
The Vikes will be back in action on the road against the UBC Thunderbirds, Oct. 9 in Vancouver.
