VICTORIA - The University of Victoria men's rowing team finished second in both races against the University of British Columbia at the 2025 Brown Cup, April 5 on the Gorge Waterway.

Thunderbirds win Campbell-Dowd Cup

• Starting the day with the reserve race, named the Campbell-Dowd Cup, the Vikes' crew of Max Pohl, Simon Whittaker, Logan Bright, Thomas Boruta, Henry King, Samuel Ross, Michael Caryk, Louis Ferraro, and Erika Sales were unable to overcome the early lead taken by UBC, finishing 12 seconds behind the Thunderbirds in the race.

Vikes take second in varsity race

• The Vikes' varsity boat of Andrew Hubbard, Quinn McCoy, Kai Bartel, Gabe Dyer, Conor Dillon, Dominik Crnjak, Sam Ree, Giancarlo DiPompeo, and Josie Roelofs finished second to the Thunderbirds in the title race, finishing the 3.5k course in 10:27.2.

The Vikes' 2024-25 season has come to a close, with the program returning to university racing in the fall of 2025.
