VICTORIA - The University of Victoria women's golf team opens the 2025-26 season Sept. 22–23 at the Saint Martin's Women's Fall Invite in Lacey, WA, coming off a season marked by standout individual success and a podium finish at nationals.
Last season, the Vikes finished fourth at the Canada West Championships (Oct. 7–8, 2024 at Okanagan Golf Club) before rebounding in the spring with a third-place showing at the Canadian University/College Championships (June 3–6 at Rivershore Golf Links). Along the way, they also captured the women's individual title at the Continental Athletic Conference Championships.
From the coach's desk:
"We anticipate a more competitive 2025-26 team this season with stronger team finishes. Our focus will be to develop a strong team culture and atmosphere to help guide our athletes to success. All three incoming recruits will be immediate impact players, on and off the course, so it will be exciting to see which of the first-year athletes take advantage of their playing opportunities," said program lead
Justin Clews.
Key returners
Cindy Koira
A third-year Vike from Stelly's Secondary in Victoria, Koira returns as the Vikes' most decorated player and a consistent presence at the top of the leaderboard. Last season, she earned NAIA Third Team All-American honours, a Canada West First Team All-Star nod, and was crowned Continental Athletic Conference Individual Champion and Golfer of the Year. Competing in all 10 tournaments, she posted five top-five finishes, capped by qualifying as the lone Vike for the 2025 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships, where she finished 44th.
Brynne Davies
Originally from Calgary, Alta., third-year team captain Davies brings leadership and consistency to the Vikes lineup. Last season, Davies earned the CAC Champion of Character award and backed it up with strong play across nine tournaments. Her 2024-25 season highlights include a third-place finish at the OUAZ Fall Invite, sixth at the CAC Championships, and a sixth-place result at the Canadian University/College Championships, the top UVic finish at the event.
