Last Week Recap:
- In game one of the weekend, the Vikes defeated the University of British Columbia Okanagan 3-0.
- In the 36th minute, Archie Tugwell received a pass from Alex Moody and blasted home a shot from outside the box for his first goal of the season.
- Off of turnover by a Heat defender, Evan Larsen capitalized as he slid the ball across the box for Matthew Pearse to put into the net. This goal in the 69th minute would make it 2-0.
- The Vikes struck again quickly as Wesley Jones, less than a minute after subbing in, buried his first goal as a Vike. Aiden Grew sent a cross over all the Heat defenders for it to find the head of Jones as he redirected the ball across the line.
- In the second game, Vikes cruised to a 2-0 win over Thompson Rivers University.
- In the 10th minute off a deflected header from Alex Moody, Matthew Pearse caught everyone by surprise as he booted a bouncing ball passed the Wolfpack's keeper.
- Manchand Virk set up Takin Keshavarz as he blasted a shot from the edge of the box and past the Timberwolves' goalie for his second goal of the season.
- Callum Weir was unbeatable in this game. He shut the door on the Wolfpack's scoring attempts, earning his second straight shutout and
- The Vikes haven't won in their last four matchups against Fraser Valley (0-2-2). They'll look to break their winless streak on Friday.
- Against Trinity Western, the Vikes are undefeated dating back to October 2022.

Last Week Recap:
- In game one of the weekend, the Vikes tied with the University of Northern British Columbia 0-0.
- In the first half UVic applied almost all of the offensive pressure but ended with nothing to show for it.
- The Vikes' continued to bring the offensive intensity into the second half. Their scoring efforts led to countless quality shots blocked by Timberwolves' defenders, saves by the goaltenders, or deflections off the posts.
- Â A fleury of shots came from the Vikes in the last five minutes but each one turned aside by a post, crossbar, or keeper.
- In game two, the Vikes prevailed over the University of Northern British Columbia 3-0.
- In the 23rd minute, a Timberwolves' pass was intercepted and led to a Scarlett McNeely one on one. McNeely passed it off to Ruby Nicholas streaking in unmarked. Nicholas finished it for the first goal of the game and her second of the season.
- In the 34th minute, off a pass from Nicholas, Sophie Murphy battled to get her shot off in the box. Her shot surprised the keeper and beat her underneath the crossbar to make it a 2-0 Vikes' lead. This was Murphy's first goal of the season.
- Off a set piece in the 52nd minute, a double header led to the Vikes' third goal of the game. Ruby Nicholas delivered a high corner kick to which was headed by Jaden Hanison as a pass to Claire Nicholas who deflected it into the top corner. This would be Claire's first of the season and it make it a 3-0 game in the Vikes' favour.
- The pressure of the Timberwolves pays off as they bury their first goal of the season and cut the Vikes' lead to 3-1.
- Off a free kick set piece in the 79th minute, Makayla Peluso delivered a long cross into the box. Raina Hagel went up challenged the keeper for the floating ball. She was able to win the race and score her first of the season.
- Against Thompson Rivers, the Vikes are 13-1-1 all-time including a home record of 7-0.
- UVic and UBC Okanagan have tied their last three matchups with the two most recent being scoreless.

- On the women's side, Vikes newcomer Madelyn Eybergen made an impressive debut, posting the best time in the women's 8k open division at 25:27 for the first place showing.
- After missing much of the 2024 season due to illness, Jaxon Kuchar made his return to action and led the way for the Vikes men, taking first place in the men's 8k open division at 22:31.
- Rowen Suchoski took fourth on the men's side for the Vikes, clocking in at 23:29.
- Erin Owens finished the 8k in 27:04, good for 10th place on the women's side.

Season Preview:
- The 2024-25 season ended in the play-in round of the Canada West championship with a close loss to the University of Lethbridge.
- UVic tallied a record of 12-9 a season ago and will look to improve with an experienced roster this coming season.
- The Vikes will return Abigail Becker who earned Canada West second team honours last season. Becker led the conference in rebounds-per-game, averaging 10.6.

Season Preview:
- The reigning U SPORTS champions return to action as they head east to Halifax, NS, for the Shoveller Memorial Tournament.
- In the 2024-25 season, the Vikes went 25-1 (20-0, 5-1) with a Canada West bronze medal and U SPORTS national championship.
- Renoldo Robinson, Ethan Boag, and Shadynn Smid were all big parts in the Vikes' postseason success and will return for the 2025-26 season.
- Boag and Robinson were both Canada West all star selections a year ago and will look to relay that success into another championship run.

- The University of Victoria men's and women's rowing teams travel to Burnaby, BC, for their first competition of the season.
- The Vikes return an experienced roster for the 2025-26 season and will look to build on their multi-medal winning performances at both the Western Canadian and Canada West Championships a season ago.

- The women's rugby team returns to action after their week layoff. This will be their last test of the season before Canada West Championships commence Oct. 16, in Edmonton, AB.
- In their first matchup with UBC this fall, the Vikes downed the Thunderbirds 19-15 on the road.

Last Week Recap:
- The Vikes defeated Trinity Western University, 57-19, Sep. 27.
- Dylan Cleaver put the opening try of the match on the board in the sixth minute for the 5-0 Vikes lead, before Trinity Western responded in the eighth minute with a try and convert to take a 7-5 lead.
- The Vikes scored four of the next five tries of the first half, seeing tries from Sully Curran (11th minute), Nicolas Willey (16th minute), Phoenix Moller (35th minute), and Brendan Kim (40th minute) along with four converts from Michael Oughtred. Though the Spartans added seven points in the 24th minute, the Vikes still held a 33-14 lead heading into halftime.
- Trading tries to open the second half, Jordy Auger struck first, along with another Oughtred convert for the 40-14 Vikes lead in the 43rd minute. Trinity Western was quick to respond with a 45th minute try to bring the score to 40-19.
- Â Victoria put the final tries of the game on the board, with Moller adding his second of the day in the 53rd minute, and Oughtred touching the ball down in the 72nd minute. Oughtred was successful on both convert attempts, while Cooper Coats scored a penalty goal in the 80th minute to bring the final score to 57-19 in favour of the Vikes.

Golf at OUAZ Fall Invite, Surprise, AZ

Last Week Recap:
- The Vikes men's golf team travelled to Bellingham, WA, for the 2025 WMU Men's Invitational.
- As a team, UVic finished 5th overall with a combined team score of +9 in the three-round tournament.
- Individually, Owen Croft (69, 71, 70) led the way for the Vikes with his -6 score. Maguire Lines (77, 75, 73), Sam Kurytnik, (70, 74, 74), (73, 73, 74), and Max Reiger (78, 79, 78) rounded out the rest of the team with their stellar play.
- The men's and women's team will travel to Surprise, AZ, for the OUAZ Fall Invite. This will be their last tournament to prepare for the Canada West Championship on October 20 and 21.
