Bellingham, WA – The University of Victoria men's golf team return from the 2025 WMU Men's Invitational tournament with a stellar 5
th place finish and combined team score of +9.
Owen Croft (69, 71, 70) led the way for the Vikes with his three below par rounds. Croft was in contention for the individual title until the very end, missing out on a four-play play-off by one stroke. His dominant play led to a -6 individual tournament score and a 5
th place finish.
Sam Kurytnik (70, 74, 74) finished +2 for the tournament, earning him T-17 honours. Kurytnik played exceptional in round one, weathering the rainy conditions to shoot -2 which was nearing the top of the leaderboard.
Solomon Decksheimer (73, 73, 74) and
Maguire Lines (77, 75, 73) round out the top four of the Vikes team. Decksheimer's play earned him the 25
th best individual score while Lines ended with in the 49
th place. Decksheimer displayed a consistency in both rainy and dry conditions, with a noteworthy back nine score of 32 in round two. This was the best single nine score of any Vike in this tournament. Lines displayed round over round improvement, shedding two shots with each round that was played. Max Reiger (78, 79, 78) played consistently over the three rounds, highlighted by score of 34 on the back nine of round one.
The entire Vikes golf team, both men's and women's, will head to Surprise, AZ, for the OUAZ Fall Invite, October 6 and 7.
