Langley, BC – The University of Victoria men's basketball team battled to a 90-67 win over Trinity Western University, January 16 at Langley Events Centre.
Spartans shock the Vikes to start.
- The first half did not go the way of the Vikes. The Spartans tested the defence and were able to find their way to the bucket.
- The Vikes headed to the locker room down two points, a rare occurrence for the top seed in the Canada West Pacific Division.
The Vikes dominate the second half for a blowout win.
- Victoria found their groove in the second half, dominating on both ends of the court, scoring 29 and 27 points in the third and fourth quarters.
- The offensive dominance by the Vikes led to a quick lead that extended with each minute that passed.
Notables
- Shadynn Smid led the Vikes in scoring with his game-high 23 points, including several emphatic dunks.
- The Vikes improve to 12-2 with the victory, while the Spartans fall to 5-10.
