Box Score Vancouver, BC – The University of Victoria women's soccer team fell to the University of British Columbia, 1-0, on Oct. 2 at Thunderbird Stadium.
 
The Thunderbirds found the net in the 35th minute.

• After getting 10 shots off in the first half, the Thunderbirds scored the game's opening goal. The Vikes backline held strong, limiting the majority of the Thunderbirds' shots to miss the frame.
• Stefanie Mocnik turned aside two shots to keep the score at 1-0 as the game hit halftime.

 
Vikes held off the Thunderbirds but were unable to find an equalizer.

• Brianne McLeish and Sophie Fingarson both had attempts at the game-tying goal, but the shots failed to find the target.

 
Notables:

• The Vikes continue to search for their first victory of the season as they move to 0-2-5. The Thunderbirds remain undefeated with a 9-0-0 record.

 
The women's soccer team will return home to face the UBCO Heat on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m.
