Growing a legacy of excellence
In 2023, we kickstarted a campaign to provide leadership opportunities for women in sport called 'Five-for-Five'. Vikes women's basketball is one of the only programs in Canada to have an all-female coaching staff, and we are proud of our ability to provide female student-athletes with strong female role models. Your support this Giving Day will supplement our Five-for-Five program, help fund our assistant coach positions and enhance the coaching staff for Vikes Nation youth programming by providing more opportunities for women in coaching.

The UVic women's basketball team proudly upholds a tradition of excellence, and a rich program history made possible by the support of our community. Our mission is to attract top student-athletes from across Canada and provide a challenging, enriching environment promoting athletic, academic, and social growth.
As one of the only programs in Canada with an entirely female coaching staff—all former university players—we champion the critical role women play in developing future leaders. We are committed to creating and sustaining opportunities for women in coaching to inspire the next generation.
