Every save, every clean sheet, every national-level opportunity our athletes earned this year was built on your belief in our team. We’re proud to share what you helped make possible.

⚡ Vikes men’s soccer take down the nation’s best

The 2024–25 season brought signature moments that signal big things ahead.

  • 1-0 home win over then-undefeated, nationally top-ranked UBC Thunderbirds
  • Followed up with another 1-0 shutout win in Vancouver—winning the season series against the eventual national champions
  • 11 shutouts in 15 games—a testament to our team’s discipline and defensive mastery

This season showed that the Vikes are not only back—but ready to rise.

🌍 Game-changing experience: California tour

Thanks to your support, the team traveled to California over reading break for a cultural and competitive experience against top NCAA programs.

Trips like this offer more than game-time—they build team chemistry, expose athletes to elite-level play, and prepare us to compete for national titles.

🚀 From campus to the pros

Vikes men’s soccer student-athletes are now making their mark beyond UVic:

  • Callum Weir
    • Canada West First Team All-Star
    • Represented Canada at the Concacaf Futsal Championships
    • Signed with Pacific FC (CPL) on a short-term contract
  • Fin Tugwell
    • Canada West Defensive Player of the Year
    • U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian
    • Drafted 12th overall by Pacific FC and signed a U SPORTS contract

Together, you helped provide scholarship support to 23 student-athletes—fueling their dreams on and off the field.

And with UVic set to host the 2025 U SPORTS Men’s Soccer National Championships, momentum and expectations are growing fast. Your continued support is helping us build a championship-caliber program.
