Tara Beaucamp enters her fourth year as an assistant coach and academic advisor with the Vikes Men’s Basketball program in 2021-22.
Prior to joining the program, Beaucamp served as an assistant coach of the Vikes women's basketball program under Kathy Shields for three years, and also served as an assistant to Brian Cheng where she helped guide the team to the CIAU National Championship title in 2002-2003.
As a player, she represented Canada on the Senior Women's Basketball Team (1993-1997), where they placed seventh at the 1994 World Championships. She also played at UVic for five seasons, and won a National Championship in 1991-92. She was a CIS First Team All-Canadian in 1992-93, Canada West Player of the Year in 1992-93, a two-time Canada West First team All-Star in 1991-92 and 1992-93, and a Canada West Second Team All-Star in 1990-91.
Tara holds a Master’s degree in Coaching Studies as well as a Bachelor's of Education degree, both from the University of Victoria. She is also a NCCP Level 3 certified coach.
Tara was born and raised in Courtenay, B.C., and has two daughters, Calli and Abby. She has been married to Head Coach Craig Beaucamp since 2006.
