Rick Farrally

Born in Winnipeg. Manitoba, assistant coach Rick Farrally was educated at Shawnigan Lake School and coached by legendary rugby icon Derek Hyde-Lay. Farrally has been involved with with previous teams such as the Meraloma RFC, St. Luke's College and the University of Exeter.

In his 22nd season leading into Fall 2017 with head coach Doug Tate and the UVic Vikes, Farrally brings a wealth of experience to the young Vikes Program with previous coaching assignments in Europe, Australia and in Canada prior to joining the Vikes. He coached teams to gold medal victories at the BC Championships in 2003 and 2010 and helped the Uvic Jutes to four straight victories at the BC U-19 Championships before becoming UVic's assistant coach.

Farrally was the Manager of Canada’s National Men's Seven's Team for seven years and was the 2009 Rugby World Cup Manager for Canada in Hong Kong. In addition to his UVic coaching duties, he is also the Logistics & Operations Chair for the International Victoria Sevens Tournament.
