Tyler Smith, a fifth-year athlete from Wetaskiwin, AB had an outstanding showing in the final Canada West Track Championships of his university career. The Education major earned four medals in Winnipeg. Smith earned in the 600-metre and 1000-metre races as well as anchoring the 4x800-metre relay team in their conference record setting first-place finish. A bronze medal in the 4x400-metre relay gave Smith four medals overall. At the conclusion of the meet Smith was also named the CW Student-Athlete Community Service Award winner.
