CALGARY - The league's top-ranked offence fell silent on Saturday as the UVic Vikes women's field hockey team suffered their first loss of the season.

Calgary forward Keara Chicquen scored in the 11th minute for the game's only score in a 1-0 Vikes loss. Dinos 'keeper Steph Petrowitsch weathered the Vikes attack to record the shutout.

UVic's top-ranked offence generated several scoring opportunities but was held off the scoresheet for the first time this season. The Vikes entered the weekend series with 10 goals through four games.

The Vikes record now stands at 3-1-1, while Calgary improves to 3-2.
