EDMONTON - With a 2-0 shutout victory, the UVic Vikes women's field hockey team kept the Alberta Pandas winless on the season.

Vikes' second-half scores from #Perri Espeseth# and #Whitney Siegemann#, coming in the 58th and 62nd minutes respectively, handed the Pandas their seventh straight loss.

#Kaitlyn Williams# recorded her first clean sheet since shutting out Alberta on opening weekend. Including the pre-season, Williams has six shutouts in 2010.

With the win, UVic ended their two-game winless streak and improved to 4-1-2. Alberta, meanwhile, dropped to 0-7. The Pandas were CIS finalists in each of the past two seasons, but roster turnover has hit Alberta hard in 2010.

The two sides will wrap up the weekend series Sunday with a 1 p.m. start time in Edmonton.
