Ryan MacKinnon scored a career high 25 points and the UVic Vikes men's basketball team dealt the upstart Manitoba Bisons their first loss of the season, taking a 92-64 decision Friday night.

MacKinnon shot 10-for-15 from the field to finish with 25 points, and eclipse his previous benchmark of 24 set in his junior year. The senior guard from Comox knocked down four three-pointers in the second half of a blowout victory.
The Vikes enjoyed their best shooting night of the young season, connecting on 61 percent of their field goal attempts, while also making nine treys.
Zac Andrus contributed 12 points and
Wendell Thomas netted 10. Rookie
Reese Pribilsky, who continued to see increased minutes after an impressive performance last time out against Saskatchewan, scored nine and made five assists.
Manitoba's breakneck offence gave them a first quarter lead, 24-23, but UVic took control of the ballgame behind a 9-1 run in the second. And as the game wore on, the Vikes dominance on the 'boards certainly took its toll on the Bisons, who were out-manned on the glass 42-16.
Josh Odgen and Eric Garcia shared the high for the visitors, scoring 16 apiece. Sean Maxwell added 10 points.
