MacKinnon leads Vikes with 18 points in road win over Wesmen

Jan. 14: Victoria 74 Winnipeg 57

Vikes forward #Ryan MacKinnon# netted 18 points as the UVic men's basketball team improved to 8-7 with a 74-57 win over the Winnipeg Wesmen in Winnipeg on Friday Jan. 14.

With the loss, Winnipeg falls to 2-11. The host Wesmen were led by Brayden Duff who scored a team-high 13 points.

The teams play again on Saturday Jan. 15 in Winnipeg (men tipoff at 6 p.m. PST).

The Vikes used a 23-point second quarter to take a 39-30 lead into the locker room at the half.

UVic also scored 23 points in the fourth quarter en route to victory.

#Wendell Thomas# added 10 rebounds in the win, while #Michael Berg# scored 12 points and corralled nine boards.

The Vikes return home Jan. 21 and 22 to host the Lethbridge Pronghorns.
