Post-season berth clinched as Vikes win sixth straight on road

Vikes star #Ryan MacKinnon# continued his hot play, blazing the Brandon Bobcats with 23 points as the University of Victoria Vikes men's basketball team won its sixth game in a row with a 77-64 win in Brandon, Man., on Saturday Jan. 29.

With the win, the Vikes improve to 13-7 and clinch a playoff spot, while the Bobcats fall to 4-14.

BOX SCORE

#Michael Berg# added 15 points and nine rebounds in the win for UVIc, while Vikes forward #Wendell Thomas# scored 10 points and corralled nine boards. O'Brian Wallace led Brandon for the second straight night, with 17 points and eight rebounds.

The Vikes shot over 50-per-cent from the field on the day.

Next up for the Vikes is a trip to Kamloops, B.C., Feb. 4-5, where the Vikes will play Thompson Rivers University.
