VICTORIA – The No. 9 nationally ranked University of Victoria Vikes men's basketball team opens hosts their home openers on Friday Nov. 11 and Saturday Nov. 12 against the Regina Cougars (8 p.m.) and Brandon Bobcats (7 p.m.) at McKinnon Gymnasium.
The Vikes (2-0) are led by
Ryan MacKinnon from Comox, B.C., who is averaging over 20 points per game in just two contests this season, both wins over previously nationally ranked Trinity Western last weekend in Langley, B.C.
The Regina Cougars (0-1) fell to the Saskatchewan Huskies (1-0) in their season opener 105-68 after posting a 2-3 pre-season, non-conference record.
Meanwhile, the Brandon Bobcats (1-1) won their home opener against the Calgary Dinos on Nov. 5, 82-75, but lost the next night 90-62.
