VICTORIA, B.C. – In game two of a doubleheader weekend against the CIS number two-ranked University of the Fraser Valley Cascades, the University of Victoria Vikes dropped the result 62-52, going 0-2 for the weekend. The Vikes now drop to 2-2 for the season after going on an eight game win streak in preseason and their first two games of the regular season.

The Vikes were scoreless for the first six minutes of play as the Cascades built an early lead to go up by eight points at the end of the first quarter. Going into the half the Cascades had edged the Vikes by twelve points with a score of 35-23.
In the third quarter the Vikes outscored the home side by seven to close the gap and trail by five going into the final ten. Unfortunately the more-experienced Cascades won the fourth-quarter battle as they outscored the UVic women by five and held the Vikes to a mere nine points with a final score of 62-52.
First-year
Tessla Rennie (Red Lodge, MT) led the Vikes with 15 points playing 37 minutes and fighting for nine rebounds while third-year
Jessica Renfrew (Victoria, BC) landed two threes alongside an additional two baskets and a pair of free throws to tally 12 points.
Next up for the Vikes is two home games next weekend against the Trinity Western University Spartans, Nov. 16, 6:00 p.m. and Nov. 17, 5:00 p.m.
