VICTORIA - A 21-point effort from forward
Jessica Renfrew helped carry the University of Victoria Vikes women's basketball team 79-58 over the visiting Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks on Oct. 18 at McKinnon Gym at the UVic Invitational tournament. The Vikes are now 1-1 in pre-season play and will look to improve that record as they still host three more home exhibition matches.

The Vikes had little trouble with the visitors after shooting 68 per cent from the line and 52.8 per cent from the field. Renfrew was 8-for-14 from the field and hit three distance shots for the double-digit game, while third-year guard
Shaylyn Crisp was nearly perfect all night to add eight points. In addition 2013 CIS All-Rookie team member
Jenna Bugiardini was the Vikes' second-highest scorer with 16 points on the night.
For the visitors, Kimberley Yeldon led in scoring with 12 points whiel Alexandra Spadaro added 10. Spadaro also added seven rebounds.
Renfrew's game-high debut came after she had to miss the opening pre-season Vikes match where the Vikes were downed 80-73 to George Fox University.
