The University of Victoria Vikes women's basketball game were unable to stop the top-scoring Regina Cougars offence in the second game of their best-of-three quarterfinal series, falling 82-68, Feb. 22 to end their 2013-14 varsity season.

Regina's Madi Docherty led the Cougars in scoring for the second time in the last three games, tying her career high with 22 points and adding eight assists and six rebounds in the win. Jennilea Coppola added 13 points, while Charlotte Kot had 12 points and nine rebounds. Kehlsie Crone chipped in with 10 points.

After getting outscored 10-0 in game one of their series, the Vikes came out much stronger to start game two, leading early before the Cougars answered back. Both teams exchanged baskets for the majority of the opening 10 minutes, with Bugiardini posting a layup mid-quarter to get the Vikes within a point of tying the game.

Entering the second quarter of play trailing 21-17, the Vikes opened up with a field goal to get within a possession of tying the game. Both sides the exchanged unanswered 8-0 runs that featured back-to-back three-point shots by third-year Vikes
Jenny Lewis and
Cassandra Goodis. The Vikes trailed by just six heading into the half.

The third quarter saw the Regina Cougars maintaining their lead throughout the quarter, outscoring the Vikes 17-14 through the frame. It wasn't until the fourth when the Cougars high-powered offence proved to be too much for the Vikes defence, going on a 10-2 run that spanned three minutes over the end of the third and beginning of the fourth to push the Cougars lead to 15.
"We fought hard tonight and I was proud of our effort," said Vikes head coach Dani Sinclair. "They are a great team and made plays every time we cut it close."

Unable to muster a comeback, the Vikes conceded their second game of the series, with the Cougars moving on to the Canada West Final Four for the seventh consecutive year. Regina moves to 8-3 all-time in 11 total postseason meetings. In addition to Semeniuk, it was also senior
Allison Mulock's final game as a Vike.
