TOUR PREVIEWÂ
Both teams were evenly matched with shots favouring Victoria 6-4 in the opening half. Vikes keeper
Larissa Piva was called upon several times to keep the Crimson off the board, while Issy Davies stood between the posts for Harvard.
Â
The visitors dominated attacking play in the second half, with the Vikes out-shooting Harvard 12-4 and having six penalty corner opportunities to the home team's two. Unable to capitalize on set plays, the Vikes' best chances came in free play.
Â
Rookie
Kristina Walters-Shumka and veteran
Kathleen Leahy each had a back-hand take at goal but both shots nearly identically went high of the cross bar. Piva made two key saves in the second half to keep the game scoreless and the final 0-0 draw keep the Vikes undefeated with one game to go in their pre-season road trip.
Â
Next the Vikes will face Brown University on the Harvard campus on Aug. 26. The Vikes will return to Victoria before travelling for their first Canada West double-header on Sept. 13-14 against the Calgary Dinos.
