PREVIEW: Vikes ready to battle Bobcats in Brandon

Nov. 3-4: Victoria Vikes vs. Brandon Bobcats (6:00 & 5:00 p.m., Brandon MB)

Tale of the Weekend

VICTORIA – The UVic Vikes men's basketball team begins a stretch of games that will see them play six of their next eight matches away from the friendly confines of the CARSA Performance Gym when they head to Brandon, MB for a pair of games against the Bobcats on Nov. 3 and 4.

Playing at 6 p.m. on Friday and again at 5 p.m. on Saturday, the Vikes will be looking to put together a consistent 40 minutes of play after an opening weekend that saw the team show flashes of brilliance.

The last time these teams met in regular season play was back in the final weekend of the 2015-16 season. The Vikes picked up two convincing wins over the Bobcats by scores of 68-55 and 90-74.

Last Time Out

An up and down weekend saw the Vikes earn a split against the UBC Okanagan Heat in their home-openers.

A fourth quarter comeback bid came up just short in a 73-72 loss on Friday night before the Vikes rebounded to trounce the Heat 81-52 on Saturday.

The Bobcats dropped two games on the road to the Lethbridge Pronghorns to start their season last weekend. In a pair of high-scoring contests the Bobcats couldn't find a way to outscore Lethbridge, losing 94-89 and 100-89.
