Tale of the Weekend
VICTORIA – One week after a tough trip to Manitoba, the UVic Vikes men's basketball team will be looking to get things back on track when they take on the Trinity Western Spartans in Langley, B.C. on Nov. 10 and 11.
In games scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday, the 1-3 Vikes will roll into Langley trying to pick up a pair of wins over the 0-4 Spartans.
The Vikes swept the pair of games that the teams played in Victoria last year, securing wins of 72-63 and 69-65 over Trinity Western in late January.
Last Time Out
The Vikes dropped a pair of close games on the road last weekend, falling to the Brandon Bobcats by scores of 89-82 and 80-70.
Taylor Montgomery-Stinson scored a team-high 19 points in the opening night loss where turnovers hurt the team in a close game while
Justin Kinnear put up 24 points on the second night.
The Spartans were also swept last weekend as they were overmatched on their home court by the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves by scores of 87-65 and 80-70.
