Field Hockey looks for third-straight U SPORTS championship

Toronto, Ont. – The University of Victoria field hockey team is set to compete for their third-straight U SPORTS national championship in a best-of-three series against the University of Toronto, Nov. 12-14, at Toronto's Campus Fields.

FAST FACTS
  • The Vikes enter the weekend as the two-time defending U SPORTS national champions, having recently completed the "three-peat" at the Canada West Championships.
  • UVic enters the final postseason tournament with an undefeated 7-0-1 record. Toronto, also unbeaten, holds a record of 8-0-2.
  • Over the season, the Vikes and Varsity Blues have held the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively, in the U SPORTS national polls.
  • Victoria last faced off against the OUA Champions at the 2015 U SPORTS Championships, with Victoria coming away with a decisive 4-1 victory over the Varsity Blues to open the tournament.
  • After clinching the 2021 Canada West title, four Vikes were selected conference All-Stars in Anna Mollenhauer, Chloe Langkammer, Libby Hogg, and Robin Fleming.
