Box Score Ottawa, Ont. – The University of Victoria men's soccer team's quest for a U SPORTS title came to an end with a 2-1 (4-3 PK) loss to the University of Montreal, Nov. 18.

55th Minute – UVic 1, Montreal 0

• A cross in to the box missed the head of Ian Whibley, but found Isaac Koch waiting. Koch in turn kept it on the ground and shot it past the diving goalkeeper to put UVic in front. 

80th Minute – UVic 1, Montreal 1

• The Carabins tied the game on a breakaway from 25 yards out.

WORTH NOTING

• UVic nearly capitalized on their first genuine scoring chance of the afternoon when U SPORTS All-Canadian defender Evan Libke forced the Montreal goalkeeper to make a diving save.
• After almost seeing a go-ahead goal from the Carabins in the 33rd minute, Victoria responded with a high-pressure attack, forcing Montreal into several defensive miscues.
• The Vikes' goal in the 55th minute marked Montreal's first goal conceded since Nov. 5.
• Last meeting a decade ago at the U SPORTS championships, the match between the Vikes and Carabins also went to penalty kicks, however, the Vikes were able to emerge victorious in the 2011 contest.
