VICTORIA – For the first time in 630 days, the University of Victoria men's and women's basketball teams return to CARSA Performance Gym for Canada West play. Both sides will host UBCO for a pair of games, Nov. 5-6.

FAST FACTS
- Both the men's and women's teams enter the weekend with a 1-1 record after the first weekend of Canada West play.
- The men opened the season with a dominant, 104-66 win at Trinity Western, then fell, 94-76, to UBC.
- The women saw plays at the buzzer be the difference-makers, as they fell, 73-66 to TWU in overtime, and defeated UBC, 74-72, at the buzzer.
- Ashlyn Day posted 24 and 28 point performances in the first two games of the season, and her 52 total points rank second in Canada West after the opening weekend.
- In addition to back-to-back double-digit scoring performances (10 and 26, respectively), Tana Pankratz also collected a team leading six blocks over the first two games, a figure which is tied for second-most in the conference this season.
- Matthew Ellis posted two over-20 scoring performances to open the season, recording 23 points at TWU and 20 points at UBC. In addition, the fifth-year collected five rebounds each game.
- Also with an impressive start to the season was Diego Maffia, who posted 20 and 16 point nights, respectively, in the first two games.
