Vikes suffer setback to Wolfpack

HOW IT HAPPENED
35th Minute – TRU 1, UVic 0
- TRU broke away from the Vikes defenders and netted the lone goal of the contest.
WORTH NOTING
- UVic saw its best chance for an equalizer in the 81st minute on a shot by Daniel Roke. Though the TRU goalkeeper made the save by way of deflection, no Vikes were able to get in to the box to secure the rebound for an wide-open shot.
- For just the second time this season, the Vikes were out-shot by their opponent, tallying seven to the Wolfpack's nine shots on the night.
- The loss marked the first for UVic this season, who now sit at 2-1-2 on the year.
Taghaoussi's stoppage time goal secures point for Vikes

VICTORIA - The game is not over until the referee blows the final whistle, and the University of Victoria men's soccer team took full advantage of the additional stoppage time to find an equaliser and draw with Thompson Rivers University, 1-1, Sept. 25 at Centennial Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- TRU would jump in front in the first half for the second-straight game, scoring on an offensive attack inside the box.
90th Minute +2 - UVic 1, TRU 1
- A cross in to the box fell to Sylvain Taghaoussi, who fired a shot on the ground to the back of the net to secure a point for the Vikes.
WORTH NOTING
- Entering the game without having scored in their last two contests, Taghaoussi's late goal ended the scoring drought for the Vikes.
- The draw earned the Vikes a point, and moved their record to 2-1-3 on the season.
- UVic completed the comeback to earn a draw for the second time this season, after first doing so against UNBC, Sept. 11, coming back from a two-goal deficit to tie and earn a point.
