Lethbridge, Alta. – The second day of the Canada West Swimming Championships resulted in five medals for the University of Victoria swimming teams, Nov. 26 at the Max Bell Aquatic Centre.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Winning the Vikes' first gold medal of the meet, Yasmin Perry went 59.00 in the 100 fly finals to claim the win, matching her first-place finish in the prelims of the event earlier in the day.
• Lauren Crisp topped the podium in the 200 back with a time of 2:09.88, improving from her silver-medal showing in the event at the 2021 conference championships.
• Capturing the bronze in the 100 breast, Sophie Tarrant clocked in at 1:09.55 to match her 2021 championship finish in the event.
• Claiming her second medal of the championships, Erin Epp finished third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:50.79, improving from her seventh-place finish in the prelims.
• The Vikes' women's relay squad of Perry, Amanda McCallum, Hannah Kingscote, and Cameron Hill won the bronze medal with a 3:51.33 performance in the 400 free relay.
• Breaking his own school record in the 100 fly, Padric Mckervill finished with a time of 53.25, defeating the previous time of 54.19 he set at the 2022 U SPORTS Championships. 
• As teams, the Vikes women sit in third place after two days of competition, while the Vikes men hold fourth place.
