Winnipeg, Man. – Handing the University of Manitoba its first-ever loss at IG Field, the University of Victoria women's soccer team beat the Bisons, 1-0, Sept. 18.

- Awarded a corner kick, Emma Skalik sent it right to the centre of the six-yard box, where it bounced off the head of a Manitoba player over the line for the game-winner.
WORTH NOTING
- The Vikes held the 1-0 lead at the half. Total shots were tied with the Bisons (5-5), but the Vikes held a 4-2 edge in shots on goal.
- The Bisons finished with the 9-7 lead in overall shots, however, UVic edged Manitoba in shots on goal, 6-5. The Vikes also dominated corner kicks, 7-2, through 90 minutes of play.
- Kayley Lidstone recorded five saves in the win, while also posting her third shutout of the year and second in as many games.
- Skalik, Kara Skirzyk, Sophie Fingarson, Erin Jensen and Tannis McKay each finished with one shot on goal for the Vikes.
- Sunday's contest was the first game for the Bisons at IG Field since 2018, where they were previously undefeated. The Vikes ended that perfect record with their win.
- The Vikes improve to 2-4-1 with the victory, while Manitoba moves to 3-3-0 with the setback.
- Victoria has now posted back-to-back wins for the first time in 2022, and comes away from its weekend in Manitoba with six points after defeating the University of Winnipeg, 2-0, a day earlier.
