Vancouver, B.C. – The University of Victoria men's soccer team fell to the University of British Columbia in the final minute of regulation, 1-0, Oct. 5 at Thunderbird Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first 45 minutes, the Thunderbirds saw a scoring opportunity right out of the gate in the second half. With Callum Weir moved out of the net to try and clear the ball out, a waiting Thunderbird was there to intercept it. However, after a quick pass to the middle of the box and a shot, the Vikes' defence made the goal-line stop to keep the game scoreless.
- With 40 seconds to play, a lazy ricochet off the post found an open Thunderbird, who put the ball in the back of the net to give UBC the 1-0 win.
