Two medals wrap Vikes' appearance at U SPORTS championships

VICTORIA – The University of Victoria women's and men's swimming teams finished in sixth and seventh places, respectively, at the 2023 U SPORTS Swimming Championships, Feb. 25, at Saanich Commonwealth Place.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Three Vikes earned A Final appearances on the final day of action in Isabella Brunoro (200 fly), Sophie Tarrant (200 breast), and Lauren Crisp (200 back).
  • Capturing the bronze in the 200 breast finals, Tarrant clocked in at 2:34.62 to finish in third place.
  • Winning the first U SPORTS medal of his career, William Risk's 15:55.79 swim in the 1500 free earned a bronze medal.
  • In all, the Vikes captured three medals at the 2023 national championship: one gold and two bronze.
  • As teams, the Vikes finished with 331.5 points on the women's side to take sixth place overall, while the men's 353 points resulted in a seventh-place finish.
