- Victoria enters the national tournament as the No. 1 seed, marking the first time the program has claimed the top seed since 2006.
- The Vikes hold a 20-3 overall record entering the weekend.
- Coming off a 95-80 win over Winnipeg, March 3 to win the Canada West title, the Vikes won back-to-back conference banners (2022-23) for the first time since the 1997-98 seasons.
- The Vikes will open the tournament against eighth-seeded UPEI, the AUS finalists on March 10 at 8 p.m. AT.
- UVic has faced off against the Panthers one time in program history, at the 1987-88 U SPORTS Final 8. Victoria came away with the 101-74 win in the quarterfinal round.
- At the 2022 U SPORTS Final 8, the Vikes finished with a sixth-place showing after falling to Carleton, 94-77, in the quarterfinals, defeating McGill, 77-68 in the consolation semifinal, and falling to Dalhousie, 98-72, in the consolation final.
- The Vikes are bolstered by Canada West Player of the Year and First Team All-Star Diego Maffia, Canada West Second Team All-Star Dominick Oliveri, and Canada West All-Rookie team selection Renoldo Robinson.
- Maffia leads the Vikes in points at 24.2 points per game, while Oliveri's 13.0 rebounds per game marks the team-high for the Vikes.
- Robinson, Elias Ralph, and Trent Monkman are also averaging double-digits for Victoria with 15.6, 14.2 and 11.1 points per game figures, respectively.
