- The Vikes enter the weekend at 1-1-0 overall, coming off a 2-1 loss to UBC Okanagan and 6-1 win over Thompson Rivers, Aug. 25-26.
- Mount Royal holds an 0-1-1 record after the opening weekend of conference play, losing to TRU, 3-1, and tying UBCO, 1-1.
- Emma Skalik leads the Vikes with three goals through two games, with all three coming in the form of a first-half hat trick against the WolfPack, Aug. 26.
- Leading the Vikes in points and assists is Ruby Nicholas, who has four assists and one goal on the year for five total points.
- Nicholas' four assists and five points against TRU ties for the second-most assists and third-most points in a single game in Canada West history. Nicholas matches UVic alumna Liz Hansen's four-assist, five-point performance at Manitoba, Oct. 15, 2006, also found in the Canada West record books.
- The Cougars are led by Sydney Danielewicz and Athena Fourlas, who each have one goal this season for MRU, while Tamara Djurisic and Jordan Grundl have each tallied one assist through two games.
- Victoria will face off against MRU for first time since the 2019 season, which resulted in a 3-0 Vikes win over the Cougars in Calgary, AB.
