Vancouver, B.C. - The University of Victoria field hockey team fell to the University of British Columbia, 2-1, Sept. 23 at Wright Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UBC took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute, scoring on a penalty corner attempt. The Thunderbirds would take the 1-0 lead into halftime.
- Nora Struchtrup pulled the Vikes even in the 34th minute, 1-1, scoring off a rebounded shot on a penalty corner opportunity.
- The Thunderbirds scored in the 54th minute to claim the 2-1 win.
WORTH NOTING
- The Vikes' goal on the penalty corner was their first of the season, as all three prior goals came via field goal opportunities.
- Struchtrup's goal was her first of the season.
- The Vikes move to 0-1-2 with the loss, while UBC improves to 2-0-1 on the season with the win.
