Vancouver, B.C. – The University of Victoria women's field hockey team fell in the first-of-two games against the University of British Columbia, 1-0, Oct. 19 at UBC's Wright Field.

Vikes see final corner chance, can't convert
- The Vikes looked like they had an equalizing opportunity in the final minute of play, earning a penalty corner with just 46 seconds left on the clock. However, the T-Birds defence kept them off the board and finalized the 1-0 win for the home side.

- The goal allowed to the Thunderbirds is just the second goal the Vikes have allowed all season.
- The Canada West banner will be decided in tomorrow's game. The Vikes will need a win to capture their sixth-straight conference banner.
