Burnaby, B.C. – The University of Victoria women's rowing team captured six gold medals at the Western Canadian University Rowing Championships, Oct. 5 on Burnaby Lake.

Faubert, Ariano and Sousa medal twice for the Vikes

• Sai Sai Faubert captured two medals for the Vikes, beginning with a gold medal in the lightweight 1x with a time of 8:13.710. Faubert was also part of the lightweight 4+ boat of Sophia Regosa, Kate Watson, Elena Masyte, and Sadie Green that won gold with a time of 7:53.192.
• Natalya Ariano and Ellie Sousa also captured two gold medals, first as partners in the 2- at 7:35.581, then as part of the 8+ with Kaliya Javra, Gabby Kieser, Danica Ariano, Pepper Howe, Paige Letham, Belén Reed, and Sofie Hof with a time of 6:45.608.

Watson, Masyte team up for pair of medals

• Kate Watson and Elena Masyte captured the lightweight 2x gold with a time of 7:54.698, and were also part of the gold medal-winning lightweight 4+ boat.

Howe adds two medal performances 

• Pepper Howe added two medals at the Western Canadian Championships, first taking bronze in the 1x with a time of 8:34.966, then winning gold as part of the 8+.

Vikes claim two podium spots in the JV 2-

• Winning gold and bronze in the JV 2- event, Zoe Scogna and Abby Simpson came in first with a time of 8:10.638, while Gracie Lorenson and Marjin Butterfield added a third-place showing at 8:33.475.
