VICTORIA - The University of Victoria women's rowing team won the Campbell-Dowd Cup against the University of British Columbia at the annual Brown Cup regatta, April 5 on the Gorge Waterway.

• Sadie Green, Sophia Regosa, Paige Letham, Sarah Stormont, Marjin Butterfield, Gracie Lorenson, Elena Masyte, Meghan Gillmore, and Abby Simpson crossed the finish line in 11:56.6 to secure the Vikes' win in the reserve race to start the day, marking a 3.8-second victory over UBC.

UBC wins Brown Cup

• In the varsity race, the Vikes' boat of Sofie Hof, Pepper Howe, Kate Watson, Gabby Kieser, Danica Ariano, Kaliya Javra, Belén Reed, Sai Sai Faubert, and Zoe Scogna took the early lead, but the Thunderbirds were able overcome the early deficit and finish with a time of 11:33.2 for a 4.9-second victory over Victoria (11:38.1) in the final race of the day.
