Toronto, Ont. – The University of Victoria field hockey team captured its sixth-straight U SPORTS national championship title with a 1-0 win over York University, Nov. 3 in the gold medal game.

Vikes win it in the second minute
- A corner to the Vikes in the second minute resulted in a penalty stroke being given to Victoria. Anni Kleinschmidt stepped up to the spot and scored for the early 1-0 Vikes lead.
- Kleinschmidt scored all four national tournament game for the Vikes this season, and netted the game-winners in three of the four contests.
Chace and the Vikes defence allow no goals en route to title
- Vikes goalkeeper Anais Chace and the Vikes defence recorded four-straight shutouts at the national tournament, outscoring their opponents 11-0. Talia Pike also contributed to the shutouts being in goal during the UPEI and York matchups during round robin play.
Program wins 17th national championship
- The 2024 title marks the sixth-straight and 17th overall for the Vikes field hockey program.
