WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Spartans take the lead at halftime
  • With five minutes to play in the first half, the Spartans got on the board and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Nicholas attempts to equalize
  • Out of the halftime break, Ruby Nicholas intercepted a TWU pass and began charging down the field. Getting into the box, Nicholas fired off a shot, but it went into the goal's side netting and Trinity Western remained in front.
Murphy breaks through to tie
  • A shot from Nicholas at the top of the box was blocked by the Spartan defender, but the deflection went straight to an open Sophie Murphy near the top left of the box, who took one touch and fired off her shot, sending it to the back of the net to bring the score even at 1-1 in the 68th minute.
Final chances in extra time not enough
  • The Vikes earned three-straight corners during the four minutes of extra time, but were unable to add a second goal and the game ended even at 1-1.
