• The Vikes and Cougars were both scoreless after the first 45 minutes of play. Vikes goalkeeper Callum Weir made three saves to keep MRU out of the net in the first half, while Evan Larson got two shots off, but both went wide to send the game to halftime with a 0-0 scoreline.

Mount Royal heads it in for game-winner

• A free kick by the Cougars resulted in the game-winning header in the 70th minute, giving MRU the 1-0 win.

WORTH NOTING

• The Vikes were outshot by the Cougars, 6-5, and 5-0 in shots on goal.
• Callum Weir tallied four saves for Victoria.
• Evan Larson and Ole Cameron combined for all five of the Vikes' shots, with Larson tallying three and Cameron adding two.
