Championships Preview:
- The Vikes head to the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championships holding a 3-4 record on the season.
- The first test of the Championships will come against OUA silver-medalists Queen's University.
- Queen's holds a 6-3 record this season, with one loss being the OUA Championship game.
- The Championship features eight teams from around the nation. UBCO, Guelph. UdeM, UBC, Dalhousie, and the host, ETS, will also be competing.
- With a win, the Vikes will play in the Championship Semifinal on Nov. 14 at 4:30 p.m. With a loss, the Vikes will play in the Consolation Semifinal at 12:30 p.m.
Men's Basketball (4-1)
Friday, November 14 at 8 p.m. & Saturday, November 15 at 7 p.m.
Vikes will host the University of Regina (2-2), Victoria, BC.
Last Game Recap:
- The University of Victoria men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season, 93-87, to the University of British Columbia.
- UBC came out and scored at a high rate in the first quarter. The T-Birds scored 30 points in the first, a feat not often seen.
- With UBC holding a 30-21 lead after the first quarter, the Vikes fought back, cutting the lead to 49-47 as the game hit halftime.
- The Vikes' shooting hindered their ability to overtake UBC in the second half.
- Ethan Boag was a bright spot for Victoria as he led the way with 30 points and 6 rebounds.
Matchup Preview:
- In their last matchup, the Vikes defeated the Cougars 88-70, making it five straight wins for the Vikes between these two foes.
- The Vikes are 8-1 when hosting the Cougars in program history.
Women's Basketball (3-2)
Friday, November 14 at 6 p.m. & Saturday, November 15 at 5 p.m.
Vikes will host the University of Regina (4-0), Victoria, BC.
Last Game Recap:
- The University of Victoria women's basketball team travelled to the mainland and defeated the University of British Columbia 66-53.
- The three-point shooting was the story in the first half. The Vikes' defence was locked in as they held Thunderbirds' three-point shooting to 0% in the first quarter and 16.7% in the second quarter.
- The Vikes pulled away in the second quarter as their three-point shooting shot 57.1% pushing their halftime lead to 35-26.
- On the back of Avery Geddes, the Vikes remained red-hot from beyond the arc. In the third quarter, they had their best shooting quarter of the season, shooting 70% from the field and 80% from three.
- The Vikes outscored the T-Birds 20-8 in the third quarter, creating a lead too big for a fourth quarter comeback.
