Victoria, BC – The University of Victoria men's basketball team dominated in their 101-53 win over the University of Regina, Nov. 14 at CARSA Performance Gym.
Victoria came out dominating on both ends of the court.
- Victoria controlled the first half as the Cougars were held to 26 points.
- The Vikes' depth was on full display as there were seven players with five or more points.
- Victoria held a 48-26 lead as the first half came to an end.
Victoria continued to pull away and never looked back.
- The Vikes played perfectly in the third quarter, scoring 35 and holding the Cougars to 13. This was the largest scoring margin of any quarter for the Vikes this year.
- After three quarters of play, the Vikes were holding the Cougars to 11.1% from beyond the three-point line.
- The Vikes finished off the dominant win with an 18-14 fourth quarter.
Notables
- Griffin Arnatt and Shadynn Smid tied for the game lead in points with 14.
- Cameron Slaymaker led the Vikes on the glass with his 10 rebounds. Slaymaker's 10 board sets a new career high in his first year as a Vike.
- Toren Franklin set a new career high in points with his eight off the bench.
The Vikes will return to the floor to rematch the Regina Cougars, Nov. 15 at CARSA Performance Gym.
