- The Vikes and Gaiters have met only once previously at the U SPORTS national championship. During the 1997-98 Final 8, Bishop's claimed a tight 78-76 win over the Vikes in the semifinal round.

- The Vikes enter the national championship as the fourth overall seed, holding a 22-1 record following a 20-0 Canada West season and 2-1 conference playoff capped by a 97-85 win over Manitoba to capture the Canada West bronze medal.
- Victoria will make its fourth-straight appearance at the U SPORTS Final 8 in 2024-25, dating back to the 2021-22 season. It is the 28th appearance at the national championship in program history.
