Victoria, B.C. - The University of Victoria men's soccer team's battle against the University of the Fraser Valley ended in a 1-1 tie, Aug. 23, at Centennial Stadium.
Legge gives the Vikes the lead
- After a scoreless first half, Connor Legge gave the Vikes the lead in the 57th minute. After the Vikes were awarded a penalty shot, Legge kept his shot low and against the left cross bar to get it past the Cascades' goalkeeper for the 1-0 Victoria lead.
Cascades strike late for the tie
- On a corner kick in the 89th minute, the Cascades were successful in their scoring attempt and brought the final score to 1-1.
Notables
- Connor Legge's goal was his first of the season.
- Callum Weir finished with four saves in goal.
- After a red card was issued in the 34th minute to Archie Tugwell, the Vikes played the remaining 56 minutes down a player on the field.
- Victoria moves to 1-0-1 on the year with the draw, while the Cascades now sit at 0-1-1.
