Women's Rugby (2-0)
Thursday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. & Sunday, Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m.
Vikes will be on the road for a trek through Alberta, first in Edmonton to play the Alberta Pandas (1-2) and then off to Calgary to play the Calgary Dinos (1-3).
Last Game Recap:

- Maddy Grant and Kendra Cousineau each scored two tries as the Vikes built a commanding first-half lead.

Alberta Matchup Preview:

Vikes will host the Mount Royal Cougars (6-2-1) and MacEwan Griffins (0-7-1) for two cross-division contests.
Last Game Recap:
- Victoria fell 2-1 to Saskatchewan on the road, moving to 3-3-1 on the season.
- Ole Cameron scored his first goal of the year in the 42nd minute, finishing a rebound off a Fin Tugwell header following an Evan Larson corner kick.
- Saskatchewan netted the game-winning goal in the 81st minute after capitalizing on a Vikes turnover to secure the victory.
Mount Royal Matchup Preview:
- The Vikes return home looking to bounce back from a 2-1 loss at Saskatchewan that dropped them to 3-3-1 and fourth in the Pacific Division standings. Victoria currently sit in a playoff position but are chasing the division's top three teams as the regular season enters its final stretch.
- Mount Royal Cougars arrive in Victoria riding a five-match winning streak and sit second in the Prairie Division with a 6-2-1 record. The Cougars have allowed just two goals during their current streak while posting consecutive shutout victories over Thompson Rivers Wolfpack and UBCO Heat.
- The two sides met in last year's Canada West semifinal, where the Cougars edged the Vikes in a dramatic 3-3 match that required a 10-9 penalty shootout to decide the winner and a spot in the conference final.

- Despite their record, the Griffins have shown signs of improvement recently, earning a draw against UNBC and pushing UFV in a narrow 3-2 defeat last weekend.

- The Vikes head to Vancouver looking for their first win of the season after earning back-to-back draws against Thompson Rivers and UBCO last weekend. Victoria enters the match with a 0-1-5 record and sits fifth in the Pacific Division.

- Victoria and Calgary met to open the season, with the Vikes sweeping the road series by scores of 3-2 and 1-0.
- The Dinos enter the weekend still searching for their first win of the campaign after opening the year 0-4, with losses to both Victoria and UBC.

Rowers Matchup Preview:
- The Rowers are still searching for their first victory of the BC Premier season, entering the weekend with a 0-3 record. Their most recent outing was a 32-24 loss to Meraloma.

Western Canada Rowing Championships Preview:
- The Vikes open their 2026-27 season this weekend at the Western Canada Rowing Championships in Burnaby, B.C.
- Victoria enters the regatta following a strong showing at last year's championship, highlighted by multiple event victories from both the men's and women's squads. Giancarlo DiPompeo captured gold in the men's lightweight single and lightweight double, while Elena Masyte won the women's lightweight single and the duo of Charisse Faubert and Kate Watson claimed the women's lightweight double title.
- The championship serves as the first major test of the season and an opportunity for the Vikes to measure themselves against many of Western Canada's top university programs as they begin preparations for the Canadian University Rowing Championship in November.
- With a blend of experienced returners and talented newcomers, the Vikes will look to build on last year's success and establish early-season momentum on the national stage.
